West ham Station to stratford
Usually on a match day I get a train to west ham, then tube to stratford before walking to the ground.

Just had a look on Google maps and it's saying its a 30 min walk from west ham Station.

After faffing around changing platforms,.queueing to get out of the station and then walking through the shopping centre (or the back route via carpenters), is it easier to just walk it from West ham.

Anyone else do this

Especially walking back with all the stop go and pissing around getting back on the tubes

Our original ST was in the main stand so the sewer bank was directly behind, but you couldn't walk completely through. A pain as you had to drop down and then back up again.

I'm going to Newham books on thursday afternoon so will take a trip down memory lane enroute to the bowl in the evening..
Ive done a lot of the greenway in the past over the years but might explore the other side towards Hackney wick and the Lea Valley in the future.

Did this today.

Unlikely I'll ever be using stratford station again unless it's a direct train there.

Greenaway was a much much better route. Even if it stank in places.

The last time I did that walk think it was a pre season game some budding chef had his car up on the sewer bank and had unloaded a bbq out of his boot and was flogging burgers etc.
I didn't stop to see what his hygiene rating was !

Walked to the ground this way a couple of times, 20-30 minutes is about right

Never understood people who waited 63525733 years in the rain for the tube from Upton Park after games, doesn't make much sense doing it from Stratford either

It's my regular route mad dog.
Walk around the corner from the station and up the staircase around 200 yards from West Ham station onto the Greenway and follow your nose.

Depends how quick a walker you are it's between 20 and 20 minutes walk and of course what part of the stadium you are located.

I just prefer it because I hate being herded into Stratford station after a game. and its a very tidy bit of exercise there and back

I do that, or, go via Roman Road, have a Guinness in the Albert, pie and mash, and then make my way to the Lighthouse, leaving 15 minutes before the game.

According to Google maps

1. West Ham Stn. to London stadiun 1.4 miles.

2. Stratford to LS 0.7 miles

3. If you go into Stratford station and get DLR to Pdding Mill Lane 0.5 miles

As has been said, up the steps to the sewerbank right next to West Ham station and a lovely little walk straight to the ground. I bet you don’t even get taxed up there anymore either so that’s a bonus.

Nice walk down greenaway which is not 30 minutes at all. More like 15 to the Broadway. Place stinks of shit though in the summer due to the sewage works

You can walk along the greenway which is lovely in the warmer months and can almost forget you’re in east London. Lots of bird life, insects and fauna etc. I do it all the time in the summer

I pay that little extra and get off at Bow Road. Little Driver drinking, then walk from there, stopping off at the Lighthouse for a top up, then over canal locks and in at the search point near the away support. Never a queue.

I avoid Stratford like the plague.

I travel from stratford to St Pancras but my mate who i go with regularly walks from the stadium to west ham station around a 25minute walk and you are right ,stop go can delay you 5-10 mins. He wouldn't go any other way
